House J .G. Monnet was founded by local vineyard owners in 1838 and originally was called "La Societe des Proprietaires Vinicoles de Cognac". In 1897, Cognac house was renamed and was named in honor of its president, as well as a respected man and a true professional, Jean-Gabriel Monnet. Jean-Gabriel also created the logo in the form of a salamander, which exists today. Son of Jean-Gabriel, Jean Monnet, began managing the family business after World War I and led him so far, until I finally decided to devote himself to his political career, becoming a founding member of the European Union.
Designed to produce high-quality cognacs, House Monnet always done everything possible to produce first-class products. For the manufacture of Cognac Monnet majority of cognac (eaux-de-vies) selected from the regions of Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, Borderies and Fins Bois. When creating cognacs Monnet distillation takes place in accordance with conventional methods. For a richer flavor brandy is aged in Limousin oak barrels. Maturation process is strictly controlled by the master. Monnet House regularly receives awards for the quality of its cognacs in various national and international exhibitions in Paris, London and Moscow.
