French cognac "Marnier" VSOP is an assemblage consisting of 50% of the alcohols derived from Petite Champagne and 50% of the alcohol from the Grande Champagne. The basis of the soil in these regions - limestone. Age of vines varies from 4 to 50 years. Crop harvested in October. All Cognacs that are part of the drink, carefully selected after distillation in copper pot stills, and keep not less than 5 years in French oak barrels, where they get rich aroma and woody notes. Barrels, which are kept alcohols are stored in the cellars of the estate Chateau de Bourg-Charente, in the heart of the Cognac region. Mixing alcohol and preparation of the final blend is held under the guidance of a master Patrick Ragenoda.
In 1827, Jean-Bastist Lapostol founded a factory for the production of fruit liqueurs with cognac. In 1876, his granddaughter married Louis Marnier, the son of a prominent family of winemakers. Thus, the company formed a Grand Marnier, which has been more than 150 years of family-owned Marnier-Lapostol. In 1921, Louis Marnier acquired Château de Bourg-Charente in the Cognac region, which began in the basement of brandy spirit. Since then the company is the fifth largest cognac house in the region, buying cognac spirits more than 200 manufacturers.
