Kilbeggan distillery was built in 1757, in the heart of Ireland. It has long been known, along with distilleries "Tyrconnell", "Aynishoun", "Dokks." The distillery was founded by Matthias McManus in 1757. As a true talented businessman - he even managed to keep the business in 1798, in which there was a major uprising and, as a result, has created an environment of political instability in the country. Nevertheless, the quality of the products remained unchanged in all these difficult times, before the era of "dry" law. The next period was marked by a slight drop, but good leadership and management have changed the situation, to restore and even increase the quality of the whiskey. But in 1957 the distillery was closed.
In 1988, production Killbegan became the property of a distillery Cooley. Kilbeggan brand was revived, developed a new, attractive packaging design, and in 1994 took Kilbeggan whiskey strong and successful position in the market.
