Glenkreyg - the name of whiskey, which is distilled in pot stills two special "Lomond" Glenburg the factory from 1956 to 1981. Whiskey, named after the director of production Highland Malt Distilleries - Willie Craig, has a more heavy and rich character than the rest produced in Glenburge. He even kept in a separate warehouse. In 1981 Lomond cubes removed and Glenkreyg production was halted. Probably the main reason for not Lomond-cubes were very labor-intensive service conditions.
Currently, tap and extract the last remaining whiskey Glenkreyg by three companies, including - Gordon & MacPhail's, bottled "Glencraig Connoisseur's Choice 1975".
Glencraig 1975 is available under the label Connoisseur's Choice, which is well known among connoisseurs of whiskey. Under this label are produced single malt whiskey produced at little-known distilleries, facing the threat of closure and disappearance. From 1980 to 1995 in Scotland it has been closed 29 distilleries, some of which are entirely ceased to exist, as some only temporarily suspended their work. The reasons for closing are different, but it would be a pity if the whiskey produced in these distilleries, was lost forever. Each of these strong drink has its own unique properties that could never be obtained in the production of any other distillery. It is for this reason, Gordon and McPhail for many years bought up in bulk malt from little-known distilleries, thereby saving them from closing. All made of whiskey and thus began to be issued under the label Connoisseur's Choice.
